Buildings at New House Farm, Upper Heaton
It was the unexpected monkey puzzle tree that caught my eye, but of more historical interest is the barn to the right, which dates from the 17th century and is grade II listed (entry 1135387). The sagging roof suggests that the king post trusses mentioned in the listing need some attention.

Houses at Upper Heaton
These houses stand high up on a ridge above Upper Heaton just to the south of where the B6118 Upper Heaton Lane and New Road converge, offering some excellent views of the Colne and Calder valley landscape, although it must be decidedly rough with a stiff winter westerly blowing.
Viewed from the footpath north of Meadow Park in Kirkheaton.
