Old milestone
This West Riding CC milestone dating from 1893/94 is in desperate need of a complete strip down and repaint. It stands on the A6107 in front of No.417 Bradley Road just east of the A641 junction roundabout. It is one of about 350 that remain by the roadside out of 615 that were erected in 12 months by the family firm of Gill and Frank Stead of Mirfield all over the old West Riding.

Old Milestone by the A6107, Bradley Road, Huddersfield
Metal plate attached to stone post by the A6107, in parish of Huddersfield (Kirklees District), Bradley Road; just East of T-junction with the A641, on pavement in front of No. 417, on South side of road. Brayshaw & Booth iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century.
