Albert Street, Lockwood
Bath Mill is closest and Albert Mills is the distance. I grew up within 20 yards of my viewpoint here (possibly less). Humphrey Bolton tells me Albert Street is now busy with traffic as vehicles for the Holme Valley are now directed down here. Before it was always Lockwood Road that took the traffic.

The nearer chimney is on Bath Mill and is still standing but the next one along on Albert Mill appears to have gone and the single storey sheds beyond the main multi-storey block of Albert Mill have also gone. The two chimneys in the distance were still standing in December 2010.

Albert Mills
Seen from round the back of Primrose Hill. There is a secluded path runs along the River Holme behind the mills. It run between Lockwood Scar and Queens Mill Road and I really must walk it again.

Albert Mills from Summer Street.
Established 1853 as a woollen mill. Includes 6 storey fireproof mill with 15 bays and internal end engine house - 3 storeys for beam engine. There is an attached boiler house with drying floors over. The front block with gate and dyehouse to left has a datestone stating 1853 but is actually from 1871. There is a small weaving shed at the back against the river. A very nice complex but I don't know its current status. There were also good views from the river side but tree growth might have ruined those.

Bath Mill is left and Albert right. River Holme in foreground. The tall flats are at Rashcliffe. I used to know this area intimately.
