18th century milepost and sundial, Cainscross
Located on the west side of Tricorn House, at the edge of the B4008 near crossroads.
The structure is a cylindrical plinth with an iron plate showing TO STROUD 1 MILE. The square upper part has sundials on two sides. There are religious inscriptions on the other two sides. In view is "Behold now is the Accepted TIME". The other inscription is "Seek ye THE LORD while He may be found".
Dated 1754, the milepost and sundial structure was Grade II listed in 1974.

Old Milestone by the B4008, Westward Road, Cainscross
Metal plate attached to stone post by the B4008, in parish of STROUD (STROUD District), Westward Road, in front of office block (Tricorn House) next to roundabout, on the verge, on South side of road. Stroud iron plate, erected by the Cainscross (Division) turnpike trust in the 19th century.
