18th century milepost and sundial, Cainscross

Located on the west side of Tricorn House, at the edge of the B4008 near crossroads. The structure is a cylindrical plinth with an iron plate showing TO STROUD 1 MILE. The square upper part has sundials on two sides. There are religious inscriptions on the other two sides. In view is "Behold now is the Accepted TIME". The other inscription is "Seek ye THE LORD while He may be found". Dated 1754, the milepost and sundial structure was Grade II listed in 1974.
