The path is shown as one proceeds towards the village of Carmunnock from Castlemilk housing estate. Some Carmunnock houses can be seen across the fields to the right.

The nearest building is 2 and 4 Kirk Road. It probably dates from mid-late 18th century, but was modified in the 19th and 20th centuries. A plaque in the wall Image is dated 1793/1974. It is Category C listed https://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB33320.

Date plaque
A plaque dated 1793 and 1974 in the wall of 2 and 4 Kirk Road Image Presumably inserted when alterations were made to the building. The design shows two couples - from the 1790s and 1970s - and a cat!

8 and 8A Kirk Road (Carmunnock Heritage Trail)
This 18th century tenement, with its nepus gable, is said to rest on 14th century foundations. From early times, detachments of soldiers were sometimes billeted here. The building which contained a shop until the 1940s, was refurbished in 1984.
