Peebles Mural
A mural on the gable end of the Old Bakehouse in Pennel's Close, showing scenes from the town's history. It was designed and painted by local artist Michael Jessing with funding from Peebles Creative Place 2014, Awards for All and Peebles Common Good Fund, along with public donations.
The right-hand end starts with King David and moves through the centuries via the Border Reivers to the coming of the railway, then to modern times. Peebles Mural (2)
Part of the right-hand section of the mural shown in Image It depicts the Border Reivers and the modern Beltane ride-out, a water-powered textile mill and part of the crowd in the High Street.

Peebles Mural (3)
The left-hand side of the mural shown in Image The North British railway from Galashiels to Edinburgh is shown with a textile mill in the background, and figures from the past and present are depicted in the High Street. The short figure in the foreground is David Ritchie, the 'Black Dwarf' of Manor. Rugby (in the red and white town colours), football, cricket, golf, cycling, fishing and shooting appear to the left, plus the X62 bus on the Galashiels to Edinburgh run.

Peebles-shire War Memorial
The monument commemorates 451 citizens of the county of Peebles who lost their lives during the First World War. The design by the splendidly named Burnett Napier Henderson Orphoot FRIBA (1880 - 1964), with contributions by several others, was the winner in an open competition in 1919, and the memorial was unveiled on 22 October 1922 by Field Marshal Earl Haig. The Second World War panels were added in 1949.
