Chapelhay benchmark
This appears to be a typical Ordnance Survey benchmark on the south-facing wall of the Chapelhay Tavern in Franchise Road. However, official records do not include it. See http://www.bench-marks.org.uk/bm65789 for the entry in the Benchmark Database. See also Image] for a wider view.

Georgian postbox on Prospect Place
This box was probably moved here after the area was badly damaged in the bombings of WWII. It's likely it would not have survived had it been here in 1940.

The Chapelhay Tavern
A fine old pub on the higher ground above Holy Trinity church. See Image] for a look at the sign, or Image] for an unlisted benchmark.

Tavern sign
This pub sign in Weymouth gives a clue as to the area's history. In times gone by, there was a church dedicated to St Nicholas near here; it saw action during the Civil War but was soon demolished. See Image] for a wider view of the pub or Image] for a benchmark.

A few year's worth of paint
The Chapelhay Tavern has had a few makeovers in the past; the last was in 2018 when the lettering was removed and the name simply painted. The passage of time has revealed a few coats.

Chapelhay Play Area
This little patch of ground was once part of the older housing in Weymouth but suffered a great deal of damage during the bombings of World War II. Much was cleared and new blocks were built, but a community effort has achieved this play area. A strong theme of Nature is emphasised by the paintings attached to the fencing.
