Haxey and Epworth railway station (site), Lincolnshire
Opened in 1867 on the Great Northern and Great Eastern Railway's Joint line from Gainsborough to Doncaster, it closed in 1959 to passengers, and completely in 1964. View north west from the level crossing towards Doncaster. The station was immediately adjacent to the Isle of Axholme Light Railway's Haxey Junction station, behind the trees on the right - see image Image Somehow the platform waiting room has survived. The poppies add a poignant touch of colour to the scene.
