Old milestone
This West Riding CC milestone is on the A18 at the east end of Dunsville near the junction with Mile End Avenue. In the 1893/94 contract 10 posts were to be set up but only Doncaster 4,5,6 and 7 can now be found. Although sunken all the legends can be read. The stone has a cut benchmark near the basae of the stone on the left hand side. It is Grade II listed 1314806.

Old milestone
The condition of this West Riding CC milestone has deteriorated since 2019. It is in front of a house just north east of Mile End Avenue. Of the 9 milestones set up on this route in 1893/94 just 4 remain in situ and this one is the only one on the left travelling towards Thorne. Grade II listed 1314806.

Old milestone
Looking towards Hatfield the cut benchmark on the left side of the stone is very clear. The concrete between the path and the road is where the bus-stop used to be. This has been moved, visible just beyond the second black lamp post, to serve the new estate of houses opposite. When the WRCC milestones were set up the stones were not painted although the metal was blue with white letters. It is not known when black letters on white was adopted for the 615 stones all over the West Riding. Grade II listed1314806.
