Metal plate attached to stone post by the A18, in parish of HATFIELD (DONCASTER District), Doncaster Road, East end of Dunsville, on the verge in front of house, near junction of Mile End Avenue, on North side of road. Brayshaw & Booth iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : THORNE / 4¼ MILES / HATFIELD / 1 MILE : : DONCASTER & THORNE / ROAD / HATFIELD : : DONCASTER / 6 MILES : Hole in top and carved benchmark near base left hand side Maker:- : BRAYSHAW & BOOTH / MAKERS / LIVERSEDGE : Grade II listed.
