The churchyard of St Peter & St Paul, Milton next Gravesend with Denton
Although clearly once a village church on the outskirts of Gravesend, St Peter & St Paul, Milton next Gravesend with Denton (to give it its full title according to the notice board) has been thoroughly absorbed in the eastward march of the town. The west tower is Perpendicular while the rest of the church is described by Pevsner as "a fragment". The chancel has been demolished. This view of the churchyard is next to the south porch.

This must be about the most colourful and attractive churchyard I have seen. Few country churchyards are quite like this one in springtime. See also http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3900266

The gate to Milton Churchyard
I love this gate and an explanation of why five monks are rowing a porcupine in a boat is given here https://www.newsshopper.co.uk/youngreporter/11586025.the-history-of-the-gravesham-coat-of-arms/
