Ninian Park Railway Station, Cardiff
The station is part of the City Line, which reopened for passenger services in 1987.
Unlike neighbouring stations designed for a maximum train length of 2 coaches, Ninian Park has the longest platforms on the line, accommodating up to nine coaches. These were built several decades ago to accommodate the football specials for fans visiting the nearby Cardiff City F.C. stadium (now replaced by Cardiff City Stadium). Before 1987, the platforms were used only for football specials.

The remarkable sight of three in-steam ex-LMS steam locomotives on the national network. Jubilees No. 45596 Bahamas and No. 45690 Leander and Duchess No. 6233 Duchess of Hamilton are seen at Ninian Park station, where they had arrived on a turning move from Barry. The Jubilees had arrived from Chester with the Railway Touring Company's Great Britain XIV railtour, which the Duchess would work the next day to Exeter.

Ninian Park railway station, Cardiff
Opened to regular passenger traffic in 1987 on the Cardiff "City" line to Radyr, the platforms pre-date that by several decades when it was only used for football traffic. View north west towards Waun-Gron Park and Radyr. The line was part of the Taff Vale Railway's network.
