Wetheriggs Pottery - kiln
The kiln is within a building at this preserved pottery site and partly filled to show how it would have been prepared for firing. I must have been quite impressed to spare one of my black and white exposures on this when I was husbanding every shot.

Wetheriggs Country Pottery - inside the kiln
This is the view into the bottle kiln showing the wares stacked in saggars for firing. Some items just appear to be on shelves and not in saggars and I don't know how accurate that is. The pottery was then preserved and operated as a museum but in 2020 is due to be redeveloped for housing. Some items will be retained as of heritage interest but the building with the kiln is slated for conversion. Depending on your view this is the least worst option for this site or wanton vandalism by profit-seeking developers.

Wetheriggs Pottery
Craft pottery in the early days of preservation - before Fred Dibnah did it up.
This is home to a steam engine from Stoke Gas Works that replaced an earlier indigenous engine (a few parts remain).
