The Methodist church on Front Street
Churchill's Methodists were given a huge boost in 1880 when local businessman and staunch Methodist Sydney Hill acquired this land and had this large church built as a memorial to his wife. In addition to this fine structure, he also developed a number of houses in Churchill and neighbouring Langford.

The churchyard and the tower
Churchill Methodist church front yard and the Jubilee tower in the distance. The church founder, Sydney Hill and his wife are interred in a tomb. Just across the road is the Jubilee tower, built in 1897.
