The Old Forge/Oak Cottages
On the opposite side of the main village street to Image Oak Cottages are on the right and were built in 1840 whilst The Old Forge to the left dates from 1900 and was built on the site of a former forge.

Malthouse/The Royal Oak
The Malthouse is nearest to the camera whilst The Royal Oak lies beyond. The former was built in the 18th century on the site of the village's former maltings some of whose ruins still remain in the garden. The Royal Oak by contrast was built in the 19th century and was the village pub from 1870 until 1992 when it was gutted by a fire. Whilst the building was restored it was converted into a private residence.

Purnell Cottages
Located on the village street and built not long after the Second World War. The two buildings further down the street are The Royal Oak, the former village pub and Malthouse, the former village brewery.

Jasmine Cottage is on the left, Roe Cottage on the right. the building dates from at least the 17th century and was once three cottages.

The Old Post Office
Grade II listed http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1238258 former post office and public house, dating back to C15.

The Old Post Office
One of the older secular buildings in the village it was built as a hall house in the 15th century reusing timbers that date back to the 14th. At some point it was converted into an inn and later became the village post office until the 1950s when it was moved to another location in the southern part of the village. Now a private residence on the corner of the main village street and the lane to the church called Village Green.
