One of the older secular buildings in the village it was built as a hall house in the 15th century reusing timbers that date back to the 14th. At some point it was converted into an inn and later became the village post office until the 1950s when it was moved to another location in the southern part of the village. Now a private residence on the corner of the main village street and the lane to the church called Village Green.
