Station Road
The main A272 heading towards North Chailey from Newick. The road was built as a turnpike in the 1770s replacing an old meandering route that ran to the north. Named Station Road from the 1880s when Newick and Chailey station was built between the two villages. Although the straight section has a 50mph limit it is notorious for speeding cars and motorbikes.

Kiln Field
The name of the field according to the 1838 tithe map. The oak lies on an old field boundary which seems to suggest that Jackies Lane was much larger in width once but has been encroached upon and the field extended eastwards.

Near the site of Newick & Chailey station, 2002
View southward from A272 road east of North Chailey towards the site of the station: ex-LB&SCR (London) - East Grinstead - Lewes - (Brighton) line. The station and line were closed 13/6/55, but reopened (for passengers), East Grinstead - Lewes 7/8/56 until 17/3/58. East Grinstead - Sheffield Park is of course now the heritage Bluebell Railway.

The Lodge, Jackies Lane
Built in 1882 to serve Reedens house whose owners had obviously gone up in the world having turned the former farmland to the east into a park and been one of the main sponsors of nearby Newick and Chailey constructed in the same year.

Little Field
The name of the field according to the 1838 tithe map which has been subdivided into a number of smaller plots one of which has had a house built upon it. This plot has been turned into a smallholding.
