The Droveway
Residential road that links Goldstone Crescent to Dyke Road before continuing down the hill to Preston village as The Drove. This section is opposite Mowden School.

Airhall, Pavilion & Avenue Tennis Club
Erected during the winter months over a couple of courts to allow play to continue without being affected by adverse weather. Not much sound insulation though as I could here the thwack of a tennis ball and appropriate grunting. The tennis club has been in existence since at least 1888 when it began life playing on the lawns of the Royal Pavilion in Brighton. It moved to Wilbury Avenue in 1900 where it remained for nearly a century amalgamating with the Avenue Club in 1956 after it sold its lands down the road which is now Image The club moved here in 1998 taking over the former playing fields of Brighton & Hove High School and now has ten courts. The airhall was added in 2003.

Mowden School
A private school that began life at Mowden Hall near Hatfield Peveral, Essex in 1896 and relocated to Lansdowne Place in Hove in 1901. The school moved to this site in 1913 and was run by three generations of the Snell family until 2002 when Lancing College took over turning it into a prep school and admitting girls for the first time. Since 2005 the official name of the school has been Lancing College Preparatory School at Mowden. Viewed from the footpath that links The Droveway with Kelly Road with the tower of the Church of the Good Shepherd to the right.

Residential road that starts to the north on Woodruff Avenue and finishes in a dead end to the south behind the Dairy Crest dairy on The Droveway. This is a view of the latter.

Pavilion & Avenue Tennis Club
Looking across four artificial grass courts with the modern clubhouse, opened in 2002, on the left, and the coaching team's hut on the right which was once the equipment store for Brighton & Hove High School who used this land as a playing field up to 1998. The tennis club began life in 1888 on the lawns of the Royal Pavilion and moved to a newer site in Wilbury Avenue around 1900 where it remained until 1998 when that land became Image It amalgamated with the Avenue Tennis Club in 1956 after they sold their courts to build Image
