Erected during the winter months over a couple of courts to allow play to continue without being affected by adverse weather. Not much sound insulation though as I could here the thwack of a tennis ball and appropriate grunting. The tennis club has been in existence since at least 1888 when it began life playing on the lawns of the Royal Pavilion in Brighton. It moved to Wilbury Avenue in 1900 where it remained for nearly a century amalgamating with the Avenue Club in 1956 after it sold its lands down the road which is now Image The club moved here in 1998 taking over the former playing fields of Brighton & Hove High School and now has ten courts. The airhall was added in 2003.
