The B2139 between Amberley and Storrington follows the route of the Turnpike constructed in 1813.

Turnpike Road
The B2139 which links Storrington to Whiteways Lodge Roundabout. The section from this point to Storrington was built around 1812 to replace the old road that ran through Parham Park then via Rackham and Cross Gates to Amberley.

Crossroads at Amberley
Looking down Mill Lane to the junction with the B2139, Station Road to the west, Turnpike Road to the east, and straight on for School Road to gain access to the village centre. The first building is Corner Cottage whilst beyond is Medley Cottage.
