Former Eldridge Pope pub on Ashley Road, named after a former local land owner. Internally, back bar with drinking and eating areas to left in two areas; space to right not apparently used. Boscombe, road closed
After months of disruption locally caused by gas mains relaying (still ongoing), disruption to drivers, bus passengers and traders continues; the railway bridge in Ashley Road is to be replaced, with works lasting a month. http://www.boscalicious.co.uk/ashley-rd-bridge-closure-update-i801.html

Boscombe: modern extension of King?s Park Primary School
Another view of
Image, this time looking a little to the right to see the extension to the school, which was completed in time for the start of the Autumn Term 2012.
Along with most of the country, Bournemouth was experiencing a dramatic birth-rate rise, with the highest number of live births in the borough for over 40 years and no suggestion that this upward trend was to end. The shortage of school places was particularly severe in the east of the borough and King's Park was extended to eventually accommodate 630 pupils, its intake increasing from 60 per year to 90 from 2012.
This will make it a larger than average primary school when it reaches full capacity at the end of the decade, though by no means the largest even in Bournemouth.

Boscombe: King?s Park Primary School
The stark, distinctive brickwork of the original 1940 building still stands out, although it has been redesigned in the early 2000s, notably the main entrance. The school opened as a secondary school but has housed King's Park Primary for many years. Immediately behind the school starts the expanse of King's Park itself.
See
