Another view of Image, this time looking a little to the right to see the extension to the school, which was completed in time for the start of the Autumn Term 2012. Along with most of the country, Bournemouth was experiencing a dramatic birth-rate rise, with the highest number of live births in the borough for over 40 years and no suggestion that this upward trend was to end. The shortage of school places was particularly severe in the east of the borough and King's Park was extended to eventually accommodate 630 pupils, its intake increasing from 60 per year to 90 from 2012. This will make it a larger than average primary school when it reaches full capacity at the end of the decade, though by no means the largest even in Bournemouth.
