Opened in 1850 by the Great Northern Railway on its line from London Kings Cross to Stevenage. View south towards Welham Green and London. See Image for a 2019 view from approximately the same position.

Hatfield station, ECML 1992
View northward, towards Hitchin and the North, also formerly St Albans (closed 1/10/51, goods 5/10/64) and Dunstable via Welwyn Garden City and Luton (closed 26/4/65). The main line from King's Cross was electrified to Hitchin in 1976 and an Up local operated by a Class 317 EMU is arriving. The station was completely rebuilt prior to the electrification has been rebuilt again recently (2013).
