Beautiful Cherry Blossom at Bainton Church Gate
St Andrew’s Church in Bainton is surrounded by cherry trees which look so beautiful in spring time. These trees were planted to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II In June 1953.

Tomb of Mary Topham in St Andrew's churchyard. Bainton
She died three days after Queen Victoria came to the throne. Mary had had 15 children, seven of which died in infancy. The religious text at the bottom has the words, "that they may rest from their labours" !!

Old Milestone by Church Street, churchyard wall, Bainton
Carved stone post by the UC road, in parish of BAINTON (EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE District), built into church wall, by the road, on East side of road. Erected by the Beverley to Kendale House turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- DRIFFIELD 6 MILES BEVERLEY 10 MALTON 18 MILES Milestone Society National ID: YE_BVMA10.

Exiting the gate at St Andrew's Church Bainton
On a beautiful sunny spring day cherry blossom carpeted the ground lying like pink confetti.The cherry trees were planted in 1953 to commemorate the Queen's Coronation .
