York: the Barbican Centre reopened
Looking down from the city walls across Paragon Street towards the Image
In the description of that earlier photo, I mentioned that the Centre had been due for demolition (and rebuilding) in 2005 but had continued to hold the UK Snooker Championships in both 2005 and 2006.
In fact, rather than being demolished, it was refurbished and is seen here on the day of the 2011 final of the same event, I believe the first event to have taken place within these circular walls since the snooker was here five years ago.

York: Barbican Centre
Despite being due for demolition in 2005, the centre still held the UK Snooker Championship in Decembers 2005 and 2006 – though the event will not be there in December 2007, so perhaps the plans are now going to be carried out.
However, in the end, the building was not demolished but renovated and reopened in 2011: Image

Late Georgian, c183o according to the listing. The oversized porch has a prominent carving of the city arms. Is it later? Grade II listed.
