Bromley Street and temple in Blakenhall, Wolverhampton
In this view are two significant places of worship. The Sikh community has been established in Wolverhampton since the 1950s. On the right is the southern end of the red brick temple, the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara. At the end of the street is St Luke's (Church of England).

Blakenhall Community & Healthy Living Centre
Recently re-named as the Bob Jones Community Hub, the centre was opened in 2010 with a library, gym, hall and meeting rooms. Heating is provided by a bio-mass boiler in the adjacent school. Bob Jones was the well regarded councillor for the Blakenhall Ward for over 30 years and the West Midlands Police Commissioner until his death in 2015.

New housing in Blakenhall Gardens, Wolverhampton
This is a multicultural area of Wolverhampton which has been undergoing very extensive regeneration for several years. The Blakenhall Gardens housing development is now well under way. Plots 83 to 91 are shown here, viewed from Dudley Road before the building of the retail area. The tip of St Luke's church spire can just be seen behind No 88.

Blakenhall Flats flattened.
In August 2002 the Blakenhall Garden multi-storey flats were gradually being demolished. This is the clear-up beginning, the day after one block was flattened.
