Daniel's Mill, Eardington - remains of former water mill
Daniel's Mill is known for its surviving mill with a 38' 10" waterwheel but until the mid 19th century there was a further small mill below the dam of the top pool, this was built around 1600 and had a 14' wooden wheel. This was known locally as "The Mill in the hole" and was also referred to as a Clover Mill. All that now remains of this building is the back wall and the wheel pit and this is seen from the dam of the top pool.

Daniel's Mill from Oldbury Viaduct
The floods in 19th June washed the land and railway embankment (see
Image ) down towards the mill below. The red/brown waters cover the heavily silted up millpond and sadly the force of the waters at their peak moved the mill wheel and have apparently damaged some of the machinery in the mill itself.

Washout at Oldbury Viaduct
The torrential downpours of 19th June caused severe damage to the Severn Valley Railway in many places between Bewdley and Bridgnorth. This picture was taken shortly afterwards whilst surveying damage to the signalling installation. Repair work has necessitated the temporary removal of the signal and track at this point. Whilst repair work is now underway the line is unlikely to re-open at this point until October 2007.
