Garratt Bank
Looking north from close to Welland Village Hall. Garratt Bank is an east-west ridge with a scattering of houses along it. After years of topping up the field just over the road with landfill we now have a useful sports field and small car park on what was the land reserved for the poor of the parish in the 1851 Welland Inclosure Act.

Landfill, Welland
This land at the junction of a stream running from Castlemorton Common and the Merebrook running down from the Malvern Hills was often flooded and may have been a millpond for Welland Mill (some 300m to the east). During the 1990s this land was filled with many lorry loads of soil and rubble.

Dumped material near the B4208
The footpath to the site of the old Welland Mill is made quite difficult by the dump of material which has taken place over a number of weeks. The burnt material, on the left, appears to come from the Star Inn at Upton-upon-Severn which was subject to an arson attack. http://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/8851429.Update__Man_arrested_after_pub_blaze/ This may be a legitimate dump of material as it is unlikely that fly tippers would leave a noticeboard bearing the name of the inn. I would prefer that the material didn't make access to the public right of way so awkward.

Welland Steam & Country Rally - car park
This is a large three day event that always occurs on the last weekend in July. I arrived at around lunchtime on the last day for a relatively whistle-stop tour. I would have preferred longer but other matters conspired against me. Still, I managed about 4 hours.
