Former railway Bridge at Scout Hill, Dewsbury
This is now part of the Sustrans cycleway network, and has recently been reconstructed to make it much more attractive and to increase the headroom for traffic. See Image for the original bridge, seen from the other direction.

The Calder Valley Greenway crosses Huddersfield Road, Dewsbury
This is a branch of the greenway leading to the canal towpath via the bridge over the River Calder. The bridge has been reconstructed so as to eliminate the vehicle height restriction on the A638 trunk road below. The green pipe on the left is a waste-water pipe that has been constructed down the greenway from North Bierley. It seems doubtful that an 18 tonne lorry could reach this point and get over the bridge, but better sure than sorry!

Former railway Bridge at Scout Hill, Dewsbury
This is one of the many bridges on the Sustrans cycle route network. The photo was taken from the Dewsbury section of the Calder Valley Greenway, which runs along the former towing path of the River Calder.

Scout Hill, Dewsbury
Here the former branch line from Thornhill Junction to Heckmondwike crosses the busy A644. The disused railway track is now the Spen Valley Greenway, a Sustrans cycle route. The link to the newly created Dewsbury section of the Calder Valley Greenway comes down between the grassy slope and the fence on the right, and across the new traffic lights provided for cyclists and pedestrians using the route.
