Hammersmith: the Apollo by night
A nighttime view of Image - in the intervening 3½ the sponsorship of the venue has changed, so it is now the eventim apollo (with trendy lowercase initials!) rather than the HMV Apollo. The frontage is floodlit in bright colours cycling through blue, green, red and yellow. The Scottish band Del Amitri are playing tonight - the last date of a nationwide tour.

St Paul's Hammersmith: interior
The interior of the church was changed first in the 1970s when the pews and chancel fittings were removed, and again with a major restoration completed in 2010. This view shows the light Bath stone of the walls (which had become darkened over the years by pollution and had to be cleaned up) and the naturally dark marble of the columns.

St Paul's Hammersmith
A chapel of ease was built on this site in 1630, but the present building dates from 1882-1883 and is grade II listed. Its site is nowadays constrained by the adjacent Hammersmith flyover.

St Paul's Hammersmith: west end
The exterior of the church has been cleaned of a century of pollution (most of it apparently in the last 50 years since a flyover was built alongside the church). A new west end extension is currently being built: this is the excavation for the basement. For the east end of the church, see Image
