Church Path and Cleveland Road
The two roadways with the trees between them are in fact separate roads, both bi-directional - Church Path to the left and Cleveland Road to the right. The strange building at the end is called The Island, for obvious reasons.

The Island
This strangely proportioned building sits on a small island entirely surrounded by roadways; why this should be so in a relatively formally developed area is unclear.

The Island
Built in the narrow strip of land separating Church Path (right) and Cleveland Road (left). Old maps show that these two roads, although adjacent, had entirely separate carriageways, although they now link up to form what appears as a single street with a median strip. Church path predates the Victorian development in the area.

Rothschild Road
This part of town, although shown on the map as South Acton is specifically known to residents as Chiswick Park, and has this as part of the postal address. The building at the end of the street was formerly a laundry but now houses studios.

The Swan, Acton Lane
The road ahead is now called Evershed Walk but was clearly originally Acton Lane, which is split into two parts; the name is resumed beyond the converted industrial buildings.

The Swan, Acton Lane
The original run of Acton Lane came from the right and turned through 90 degrees in front of the pub. Traffic on Acton Lane now follows a direct route along Beaconsfield Road, just visible in the distance at the left hand edge of the picture.
