The Swan, Acton Lane
The road ahead is now called Evershed Walk but was clearly originally Acton Lane, which is split into two parts; the name is resumed beyond the converted industrial buildings.

The Swan, Acton Lane
The original run of Acton Lane came from the right and turned through 90 degrees in front of the pub. Traffic on Acton Lane now follows a direct route along Beaconsfield Road, just visible in the distance at the left hand edge of the picture.

Acton Green bus terminus
A London United bus on Route 94 (Piccadilly Circus to Acton Green) takes its layover at the pleasant Acton Green terminus. The bus is ADH 19, one of the recently introduced hybrid buses used on this route. London United is a subsidiary of RATP, the company which operates the Paris Metro as well as buses in the French capital city.

The Island
Built in the narrow strip of land separating Church Path (right) and Cleveland Road (left). Old maps show that these two roads, although adjacent, had entirely separate carriageways, although they now link up to form what appears as a single street with a median strip. Church path predates the Victorian development in the area.
