New Kew Junction
The Hounslow Loop Line is joined by the north - east side of the triangular junction with the line from Acton and Willesden. The up and down junctions are considerably staggered, possibly to accommodate waiting long eastbound freight trains on the triangle without fouling the north junction.

The Hounslow Loop was opened in 1849 as was Kew Bridge station. This is the view from the end of the platform under Chiswick High Road towards Chiswick. Beyond the bridge can be seen the lines of the north-eastern curve joining. These date from 1862 and once had a station but are now freight only - see http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2515170
