Lifeboats on Chiswick Pier
The orange boats on the pontoon pier belong to RNLI Chiswick. In the water is boat E-003, out of the water is another boat.

Chiswick Pier
The pier, on Church Wharf alongside Corney Reach, was opened as recently as 1997, in the area of the former Thornycroft shipyard http://www.chiswickpier.org.uk/index.php . The trees on the far bank conceal a disused reservoir, now the Lonsdale Road (Leg o’ Mutton) Nature Reserve.

Corney Reach
This section of river is called Corney Reach, a name derived from Cornhithe.
There was a mansion called Corney House here at one time.

Chiswick RNLI Station
People get into difficulties on inland waters as well as at sea. Some of them are experienced but have faced unforeseen problems. Others are idiots who should never be allowed anywhere near water. In all cases, the RNLI is here to help. They have four stations on the Thames alone.
