House tented for loft conversion
Many houses in this area which were built as three bedroom semis are having loft conversions and become four or five bedroom houses. Here a temporary roof on scaffolding has been put over the house, with plastic sheeting forming a tent to protect the site during the building works. The red lorry has a crane and was delivering steel girders into the roof space of the house.

North Acton Playing Field 1980, bowling green
In 1980 the bowling green was in regular use but it fell out of use and by 2019 has been replaced by a garden. The houses are in Eastfields. Scan of 35mm Kodachrome slide.

Pavilion, North Acton Playing Fields
The pavilion has just been rebuilt with better changing rooms.

Jubilee picnic, North Acton playing fields pavilion
Supported by the W3 Venue cafe and West Acton Residents Association, this was an event open to all. There was Syrian food available from the cafe. There were many street parties on this or nearby days of the Platinum Jubilee bank holidays.
