Edgware Road
Looking along Edgware Road towards Marble Arch, between the Praed Street and Sussex Gardens junctions. Edgware Road is part of Roman Watling Street heading dead straight north-west out of London; it is now the A5. Traffic congestion is not unusual.

Edgware Road tube station
The Metropolitan Railway carving at the top of the building reflects the previous history of this station but may be confusing to the stranger! The station is on the route of London's first underground railway, the Metropolitan Line, opened between Paddington and Farringdon in 1863, but is now on the Circle Line, the Hammersmith & City Line and is the northern terminus of the District Line. It should not be confused with the Bakerloo Line station also called Edgware Road about 150 metres away to the north on the other side of the Marylebone flyover.

Junction Mews, Paddington
Mews housing, squeezed behind the main streets, is characteristic of the Paddington area. The houses are considered highly desirable - quiet and secluded but close to the action. Junction Mews is entered through an archway off Sale Place and runs between Star Street and Sussex Gardens.
