View eastward from Cabbell Street, towards King's Cross St Pancras on the London Underground Metropolitan District (Circle Line). The station is a principal station of this line, being one of those on the original 1863 Paddington - Farringdon sub-surface line, subsequently on the Hammersmith & City line and the terminus of District Line trains from Wimbledon via Earls Court and High Street Kensington. With a separate entrance on Edgware Road nearby is a station on the Bakerloo Tube line, Harrow & Wealdstone - Elephant & Castle. Capital House, Chapel Street
Built as Foster Wheeler House, 1958-60, the first of countless commercial commissions for Richard Seifert & Partners. Its current appearance, however, must owe everything to a remodelling of 1991 which looks to have been a case of swaddling the original in lots of clashing pullovers. It is one of a cluster of four towers at the east end of Westway. Information from skyscrapernews.com.
