View eastward from Cabbell Street, towards King's Cross St Pancras on the London Underground Metropolitan District (Circle Line). The station is a principal station of this line, being one of those on the original 1863 Paddington - Farringdon sub-surface line, subsequently on the Hammersmith & City line and the terminus of District Line trains from Wimbledon via Earls Court and High Street Kensington. With a separate entrance on Edgware Road nearby is a station on the Bakerloo Tube line, Harrow & Wealdstone - Elephant & Castle. The statue had recently (1990) been erected: 'The Window-Cleaner', by Allan Sly. (Cf. Image]) and Image]).
