The main entrance to Hammersmith Hospital
Hammersmith Hospital was formerly the Military Orthopaedic Hospital, and later the Special Surgical Hospital. For its full history see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hammersmith_Hospital Much of the modern hospital consists of rather undistinguished modern but this central block, seen across Du Cane Road, forms the main entrance and is more attractive.

Central line tracks cross sides in Hammersmith
The tube train on top is coming from White City where the westbound track is on the north, and approaching East Acton where the westbound track is on the south. To do this the westbound track is on a bridge over the eastbound track. An eastbound train can be seen disappearing towards White City. View from footbridge opposite Hammersmith Hospital.
