Once a house
The mid 18th century house (the five bays with the central doorway and the two bay wing to the south (left)) is now incorporated into Richmond Royal Hospital. Two houses built in the flamboyant Gothic Revival style of the late 18th century. Popularly known as Strawberry Hill Gothic, the style was inspired by author Horace Walpole's nearby castle-like mansion Strawberry Hill House.
