Old Milestone by the A307, Kew Road, Richmond upon Thames parish
Carved stone post by the A307, in parish of RICHMOND UPON THAMES (RICHMOND UPON THAMES District), Kew Road, opposite Clarence Street, in pavement, back to wall, on South side of road. Richmond stone, erected by the Kensington to Cranford Bridge turnpike trust in the 19th century.

Eight miles from Hyde Park Corner
This milestone is on Kew Road in the centre of Richmond. I presume the route is measured via Kew Bridge (which comes out at 8.1 miles on a modern map), rather than Chiswick Bridge (shorter, at 7.5 miles). The distance (8) is given in Roman numerals VIII.
