The Old Palace
The original Richmond Palace was demolished in the 1650's. The present buildings are now 2 houses mainly C18 and C19. Built in dark red brick and battlemented with an octagonal turret, and projecting bays at either end and in the centre.

Gatehouse to Richmond Palace
The gatehouse to the former Tudor Richmond Palace. The Palace was built by Henry VII, replacing the earlier Sheen Palace which was destroyed by fire at Christmas 1487. Both Henry VIII and Elizabeth I died here. After Charles I's execution, Richmond Palace was sold by the Commonwealth Parliament and by the Restoration of Charles II in 1660 little of the building was left. The Wardrobe, Old Palace Yard
