The Church School and former Musical Museum, Brentford
This view looks across Brentford High Street. The building on the left is the former Church School, dating from 1786 according to the notice on its front. The building on the right is the disused St George's Church which until recently housed the Musical Museum. This reopened in a new building, three times the size of the old one, just down the road in 2007.

The Mighty Wurlitzer at the Brentford Musical Museum
The Brentford Musical Museum was founded in 1963 and was first housed in St George's Church nearby. The church was built in 1887 but was of poor-quality material and was never really completed. It did not offer the best conditions for housing old musical instruments. In 2007, the Musical Museum relocated to a purpose designed building which showcases the instruments wonderfully. The Mighty Wurlitzer was built in 1929 for installation in a private house but for various reasons it was enlarged, shipped and installed in the newly-built Regal Cinema in Kingston upon Thames, opening with the building in 1932. It came to St George's Church in 1972 and eventually was moved to the new museum. See also https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/7313726

Pump House Crescent, Brentford
An estate of new apartment blocks. As part of the development, a new premises has been provided for the Musical Museum http://musicalmuseum.co.uk which was previously in an old church down the road. The museum features a large collection of self playing musical instruments. The street name comes from the large Victorian pumping station nearby which is now the Kew Bridge Steam Museum.

The Musical Museum
Apparently this museum contains a large collection of automatic musical instruments. Unfortunately it, like just about every other museum, was closed when I arrived toward the end of a Sunday afternoon. Photographer position from GPS; the detailed map places the museum a couple of blocks away.
