The Brentford Musical Museum was founded in 1963 and was first housed in St George's Church nearby. The church was built in 1887 but was of poor-quality material and was never really completed. It did not offer the best conditions for housing old musical instruments. In 2007, the Musical Museum relocated to a purpose designed building which showcases the instruments wonderfully. The Mighty Wurlitzer was built in 1929 for installation in a private house but for various reasons it was enlarged, shipped and installed in the newly-built Regal Cinema in Kingston upon Thames, opening with the building in 1932. It came to St George's Church in 1972 and eventually was moved to the new museum. On this occasion it rose up on to the stage and was being played - see also https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/7313724
