Hanworth Road, Whitton
Apart from the housing, another feature typical of suburban streets is the heavy duty surgery applied to any tree that's getting too big. This looks like a horse chestnut, already suffering from blight. How much can a tree take? This is on one of the roadside bits of the London Loop long distance path.

Start of Crane River cycleway to Twickenham
This is A314 Hanworth Road - just in Richmond. From here there is a pleasant walk and cycleway beside the River Crane for two miles to Twickenham, ending through Kneller Gardens to Craneford Road by The Stoop and Richmond Upon Thames College.

Ex-LSW 4-4-0 at Feltham Locomotive Depot
No. 139 is a Drummond class K10 4-4-0, designated 'mixed-traffic' but more often used for local goods, built 10/1902, withdrawn 9/48.

SR Maunsell 4-6-0 at Feltham Locomotive Depot
Outside the main Shed in 1947 are two of the later (Maunsell) S15 class 4-6-0s, used for many of the main-line freight workings from Feltham Yard. The front one is No. 834 (built 11/27, withdrawn 11/64), behind is No. 837 (built 1/28, withdrawn 9/65).

SR Q1 0-6-0 at Feltham Locomotive Depot
No. 33016 is one of the strange-looking but powerful Q1 class 0-6-0s introduced for wartime freight traffic by Bulleid in 1942, being built as No. C16 in 11/42 and lasting until 8/63.

Ex-LB&SC R. Billinton C2X class 0-6-0 No. 32438 (built as a C2 4/1893, rebuilt as C2X 2/24, withdrawn 12/61) rests in the Depot yard.

Ex-LSWR Drummond '700' class 0-6-0 at Feltham Locomotive Depot
The Southern Railway normally managed with much fewer 0-6-0 goods locomotives, the principal class on the Western (ex-LSW) Section being the Drummond '700' class 0-6-0. Here, before Nationalisation, is No. 698 (built in 4/1897, withdrawn 5/62).
