Hounslow Central Underground station, Hounslow
This station is served by the Piccadilly Line, which as can be seen from the bridge, actually runs overground in this part of Greater London.

Hounslow Central Station
The District Railway opened a line to Hounslow in 1884 which was to become a part of the London Underground network, used by Piccadilly Line trains from 1933. District Line trains were withdrawn in 1964, but the extension of the line in stages from the 1970s to serve Heathrow Airport has made this route one of the most important parts of the network. The current station building on Lampton Road dates from 1912.

Hounslow Central Underground station, Greater London
Opened in 1886 as "Heston & Hounslow" by the Metropolitan District Railway on the line from Central London to Hounslow Barracks (now Hounslow West), and since 1977 to Heathrow. The station was rebuilt in its current form in 1912 and renamed "Hounslow Central" in 1925. It was served jointly by Piccadilly and District line trains from 1933, District line trains being withdrawn in 1964.
View north east at the forecourt. Like 55% of the London Underground network, this part is actually overground.
