Opened in 1886 as "Heston & Hounslow" by the Metropolitan District Railway on the line from Central London to Hounslow Barracks (now Hounslow West), and since 1977 to Heathrow. The station was rebuilt in its current form in 1912 and renamed "Hounslow Central" in 1925. It was served jointly by Piccadilly and District line trains from 1933, District line trains being withdrawn in 1964. View north east at the forecourt. Like 55% of the London Underground network, this part is actually overground.
