Bus and Barriers
The level crossing barriers rise after the passage of a train into Feltham Station. Framed between the barriers is a H25 bus for Hatton Cross in the bus station that was built in the 1990's when the railway station was rebuilt. The service is operated by Abellio and the vehicle is a Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart. The lady in the bottom right of the photo amused me - having waited patiently by the barrier rather than using the footbridge, she ducked under the barrier as it was rising to hurry briskly across the railway line.

Waiting to Board
Passengers on the up platform at Feltham wait for the doors to be released so that they can board the train - for some reason on these Siemens Desiro units it seems to take an age! The train is the 12:41 for Waterloo from Weybridge, routing via the Hounslow Loop - the slow route to Waterloo. It is followed by the 12:46 which takes the more direct route via Twickenham and 10 minutes less.

Train at Feltham
A suburban electric multiple unit leaving Feltham station in West London. The train is starting to cross over a level crossing. The railway is electrified using the third rail system. There is a gap in the third rail where the railway crosses the road.

Feltham Station
A Reading service departs platform 2 over the level crossing on Bedfont Lane. The train is made up of Class 458 Juniper units (numbers 8030 and 8015). Made by Alstom, they entered service between 1998 and 2002. Currently 4-Car units, during 2013 they will be modified using vehicles from the similar class 460 units that have been withdrawn from their Gatwick Express duties to become 5-Car units. Originally opened in 1848, Feltham Station was significantly rebuilt in the 1990's. It is interesting to compare this view with Malc McDonald's Image from 1990.
