Sheen Road, resurfaced
This view looking east from outside the gate of Hickey's Almshouses Image shows a pelican crossing. The road appeared to have been recently resurfaced given its smoothness and the brightness of the road markings.

Gatehouse, Hickey's Almshouses
Image was taken through the stepped arch that links the twin lodges of the gatehouse on Sheen Road, given a castellated appearance with their polygonal buttresses and parapet http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/Default.aspx?id=435927&mode=adv .

Hickey's Almshouses, Sheen Road, Richmond: gatehouse and chapel
Looking north across Sheen Road. On the far side of the quadrangle is the almshouses' chapel - its bell-turret just visible in this shot. Hickey's Almshouses are architecturally rather fanciful, with 'Hampton Court' touches, but they lack colour. The Church Estate almshouses next door (just west) are much more colourful http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2316683. William Hickey's endowment dates from 1728, but none of the present buildings date from earlier than 1834.

Bus turnaround, Queen's Road
On the immediate left is Image Queen's Road swings past the site of the Black Horse pub; a new building of 10 flats, straddling the northing gridline, has been built at the rear of the now-converted pub, which faces the junction with Sheen Road.
